As Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 neared end-of-life, the firm’s Infrastructure Operations team was tasked with migrating 150–200 systems to modern, supported platforms. Where possible, applications were containerized to create portable, isolated environments that simplify future updates. For systems not suited to containerization, standardized lift-and-shift migrations were implemented to harden RHEL 9 virtual machines, ensuring consistency, security, and reliability across the environment.
